Two Rockford area men arrested for burglary of ComEd vehicles

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Two Rockford area men were arrested after the burglary of two ComEd vehicles Monday.

Marc Davis, 41, of Rockford was charged with theft and attempted theft burglary to a motor vehicle.

Thomas Berry, 39, of Machesney Park was charged with theft, attempted theft burglary to a motor vehicle and possession of cocaine.

Police responded to a burglary call around 2 a.m. at the local ComEd off Energy Avenue.

Officers noticed two male suspects in the area and determined the two burglarized two work trucks where large coils of copper wiring were found.

Officers found cocaine in Berry’s vehicle, while Davis was already wanted on an unrelated warrant.

Davis and Berry were taken to Winnebago County Jail. Both are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
