Two AK-47s, handguns, marijuana recovered in Rockford drug raid; two arrested

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Two people were arrested after police recovered weapons and drugs during a narcotics raid in Rockford.

Emilio Brito Jr., 19, and a 17-year-old juvenile male were taken into custody following a search warrant in the 1600 block of Green St. on Thursday.

Winnebago County Sheriff's deputies executed the warrant in the 1600 block of Green Street around 9 a.m.

Deputies recovered two AK-47 rifles, three handguns, marijuana and $20,000 in cash during the search. One of the rifles was equipped with a 100 round drum magazine, according to the sheriff's office.

Brito Jr. was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana (30-500 grams), possession of firearm without a FOID card and possession of ammunition without a FOID card.

The juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number. Brito Jr. and the juvenile are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
