A Rockford man was arrested after ramming two buildings with a red pick-up truck Wednesday morning and causing damage.
Richard Overcash, 56, was accused of ramming J & F Tobacco at 2410 South Alpine Road and Tobacco One Plus at 1221 Sandy Hollow Road.
Police say two collisions caused damage to the front entrance of J & F Tobacco around 5 a.m.
Three hours later, police responded to reports of a possible burglary at Tobacco One Plus. Once arriving, police say the front door was damaged and there was a hole in a wall.
Shortly later, officers found the suspect vehicle from both scenes in the 3900 block of 11th Street. The driver, identified as Overcash, was taken into custody.
Police say nothing was taken and no one was hurt in either situation. Overcash was charged with attempted burglary and two counts of criminal damage to property.
Overcash is being held in Winnebago County Jail. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.

A red pick-up truck rammed the front entrance of a tobacco store in Rockford early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to a business alarm at J & F Tobacco at 2410 South Alpine Road around 5 a.m.
Investigators say the collision caused extensive damage to the front door of the business. The truck reportedly rammed the front entrance twice, but didn't bust through the store.
No one was hurt and no items were stolen, but police say the driver then drove away from the scene.
