ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Three teens were arrested for a string of car burglaries in the Rockford area late Tuesday night.
Lonnie Young, 18, and two juvenile males, ages 17 and 16, were accused of the burglaries. All were charged with five counts of burglary to a vehicle, while Young was also charged with obstruction of identification.
Officers responded to the 1600 block of Virginia Avenue around 11:30 p.m. after reports of vehicle burglaries. Once arriving, they learned at least six vehicles were burglarized.
While investigating, officers found three people in the 2600 block of Auburn Street who matched suspect descriptions. Police recovered several cells phone chargers, some cash and a few other items believed to be stolen from vehicles.
Young was taken to Winnebago County Jail. The two juveniles were taken to a juvenile detention center. All are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
