ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- Three Rockford men are arrested after hitting two police squad cars during a traffic stop Friday afternoon.

Authorities say officers tried to stop a car in a parking lot in the 5100 block of East State Street just before noon Friday. That’s when the driver, 21-year-old Detrayvian Jones reversed the car, ramming in to a marked K-9 squad car before driving off.

The suspect vehicle sped away from the scene before hitting an unmarked squad car. Officers pursued the car to the 100 block of Oriole Circle. That’s when the three suspects inside the car got out and ran off while the car was still moving. The car eventually crashed into a yard.

All three suspects were then taken into custody. During the investigation detectives found what they believe to be crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, heroin, a scale and other drug trafficking items.

21-year-old Detrayvian Jones faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession with intent to deliver cocaine within 500 feet of a church, aggravated fleeing, and reckless driving, among several other charges.

22-year-old Ty’Yon Collins is facing resisting/obstruction a peace officer charges.

22-year-old Derrick Gulley faces charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine within 500 feet of a church and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
