Three juveniles arrested for carjacking in Rockford
Three juveniles were arrested for allegedly forcing a man out of his car, stealing his wallet and taking off in his car in Rockford.
Police say the alleged carjacking happened around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of School Street.
The victim, a 48-year-old man, was reportedly sitting inside his vehicle when three armed suspects approached him.
Police found the stolen car in the 400 block of Peach Court around 12:45 p.m. Sunday. Three teen males matched police descriptions as carjacking suspects.
The juveniles, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were taken into custody without incident near the intersection of Andrews and Underwood streets.
All three juveniles were charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle. They are being held at a juvenile detention center and considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
