ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Three Rockford residents are charged after the police SCOPE unit finds a handgun and drugs inside a vehicle.
Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, officers attempted to stop a car near the intersection of 5th Ave. and 9th St.
The driver did not immediately stop and proceeded to drive slowly for several blocks before completely stopping.
Police found six people inside the vehicle, along with a loaded 9 mm handgun, a small amount of suspected "crack" cocaine and a small amount of cannabis.
Latisha Lee, 34, of Rockford, is charged with fleeing to elude and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Mark McClain, 48, of Rockford, is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Deanton Davis, 23, of Rockford, is charged with unlawful use of weapons by a felon, no FOID card and two outstanding arrests,
All were taken to the Winnebago County Jail. They're considered innocent until proven guilty.
