OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – A threatening message was discovered in a student bathroom at Stillman Valley High School.
Students told administrators there was a threat written in a stall of a girls bathroom inside the high school. The discovery was made at 11:30 a.m. However, investigators say the threat was unfounded.
School leaders say they will continue to increase the police presence at the school for Friday night's activities and at school on Monday.
"Today was probably the best drill we could ever do for our kids", said P.J. Caposey, Superintended of Meridian CUSD. "We talk through and thought through more situations and crisis management than we could ever do in a normal training drill".
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Department was contacted and the appropriate safeguards have been put in place.
At this time, there is no information on who wrote the threat. Crime Stoppers will provide a reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
