The enLIGHTen Experience makes its way to the Stateline this weekend, giving visitors the chance to get interactive with art installations and pop-up displays.

The attraction will have 15 rooms filled with art, backdrops and lighting elements. The whole experience took about a month to complete.

Organizers say they have seen similar pop-up museums thrive in big cities and have high hopes for the attraction in Rockford.

"They're starting to become more and more popular now as this whole Instagram culture grows," said Sean Denny, co-owner of enlighten Experience. "We love what's happening in the community, and we thought it would actually be a really great fit to bring something like this to Rockford."

The exhibit opens Saturday an remains open through the end of March. It is located in the 100 block of Madison Street. Tickets costs $20 for adults and $15 for children.

A new immersive pop-up museum is coming to downtown Rockford that will not only stimulate your senses but will give you more than a dozen photo ops for your Instagram.

The enLIGHTen Experience will be opening up next month. The space located on Madison Street will have 15 rooms filled with art, backdrops and lighting elements the whole family will enjoy. Some rooms will use technology based tools and there will even be a room entirely filled with confetti that you can throw around. Owners of the enLIGHTen Experience say pop-ups like this have become very popular in big cities and hope it will be a success here in Rockford.

"We know that Rockford has been growing a lot and their downtown is trying to be cooler and do some really awesome things and we just want to help be a part of that. There's a lot of really amazing people here that are doing some really cool stuff and we thought this would be a great way and a great space to just continue on with what's going on down here, help give it a little bit of an extra boost,” said co-owners of the enLIGHTen Experience Sean Denny.

The enLIGHTen Experience will be open Tuesdays through Sundays for two months starting February 2. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for kids.
