Boone County sentences Texas man to 52 years in prison for sexually assaulting child

A Boone County judge sentenced a southern Texas man to 52 years in prison after being convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Dryer was arrested after Belvidere police officers received a tip in July 2015. He was found guilty for charges of f sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated child pornography in November.

The Boone County State's Attorney says Dryer will be required to serve at least half of his sentence and register as a sex offender for life.

A Pasadena, Texas man was found guilty of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated child pornography, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Seth Dryer, 38, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Dryer faces a minimum of 43 years in prison.

In July 2015, Belvidere police officers received a tip that led to the investigation of Dryer. He was arrested in Texas by Belvidere detectives, the Department of Homeland Security and local officers.

Dryer was taken to Belvidere to stand trial. His sentence is set for January 2019.

Dryer will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
