Teen caught driving 111 mph in a 55 mph zone in Illinois

Illinois State Police say a 16-year-old driver was caught driving 111 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, only had his license for two months, according to Illinois State Police.

Authorities say he hit a patch of snow across the lane and almost drifted off the roadway before regaining control.

The boy was pulled over by an ISP trooper.

"It could go one of two ways. Either the 16 year old could have a wake up call after his court date and he will fix his poor driving decisions in the future and make good choices...or it could result in injury or death in a crash," says ISP in a
