Suspect robs Family Dollar at gunpoint, shoots at employees

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Investigators are looking for a man who robbed a Family Dollar at gunpoint Sunday morning.

The man allegedly walked toward two employees in the store at 715 Broadway Street and pointed the handgun at them. Both of the employees ran around the counter and ran toward the exit.

While the employees were leaving the store, the suspect fired two shots at the employees, but missed them.

The suspect left the store and headed east on Broadway. Nothing was taken from the store.

The suspect is described as a black man, around six feet tall in his late 20’s, wearing around 170 pounds and wearing a wig.

He was wearing a black hat, light blue banana with part of it covering the face, a black hoodie, grey pants, white shoes, and blue rubber gloves.
