Study: Illinois named 9th most gambling-addicted state

When it comes to gambling, a new study suggests Illinois has some of the country's highest rollers.

Illinois was named WalletHub's ninth most gambling-addicted state in 2019. According to the study, Illinois had the most gambling-related arrests per capita.

The

​ ranked all 50 states based on criteria for gambling friendliness, treatments for gambling problems and access to gambling machines.

Illinois also ranked first for the legality of legality of sports gambling, ninth in percentage of adults with gaming disorders and 18th in gaming machines per capita.

Nevada was ranked the state with the highest gambling addiction, while neighboring state Utah finished last in the study.
