ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Rescue Mission is putting men and women to work while they recover from addiction.
The "Rockford Remade" store gives women from Rockford Rescue Mission's life recovery program the opportunity to fix up unique donated items and put them up for sale. Men in the program are also encouraged to participate with therapeutic art.
Volunteers from the life recovery program are recovering from addiction, abuse and other difficulties.
"I enjoy doing art, I enjoy doing things for Remade that are able to be sold. I just like doing art therapy." Laura Homewood, Women's Life recovery resident.
All proceeds from the store benefit Rockford Rescue Mission. You can visit the store at 611 W. State St. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, every other weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
