STILLMAN VALLEY, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Stillman Valley and Genoa-Kingston high school football teams join forces to help support a coach battling cancer.

Scott Rempfer, a varsity assistant coach for Stillman Valley and Genoa native, was recently diagnosed with cancer. The school says Rempfer recently had surgery, but has an enormous battle ahead with treatments and traveling.

Rempfer serves as a Special Education Teacher at Stillman Valley. He has worked in teaching and coaching roles for 24 years.

The Stillman Valley and Genoa-Kingston football teams have organized shirt sales to support Rempfer. The schools ask community members to purchase shirts and wear them on Oct. 25 when the two teams meet at Stillman Valley.

The shirts are available in white, red and royal blue colors. Each one has a slogan from Coach Rempfer reading "I'm Built For This." T-shirt orders are due by Thursday, Oct. 17
