ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – According to the National Retail Federation, about 70% of people say they plan to hand out hundreds of pieces of candy this Halloween.
SwedishAmerican Diabetes Educator Linda Dries says despite a diagnosis, kids with diabetes or allergies can still enjoy trick or treating. But, she says it’s on parents to plan ahead before walking around the neighborhood. Dries says once kids come home with the candy, portion control is key to keeping kids healthy.
