Stateline: What's open, what's not on Christmas Day

STATELINE (WIFR) -- If you’re looking to get out of the house on Christmas Day around the Stateline, you may be in luck.

Only one week away from Christmas Day, several restaurants and businesses plan to keep their doors open for at least a limited time.

While some places plan to recognize Christmas Day hours nationally, make sure to check in with local stores before venturing out next week.

NOTE: We will continue to update this post with more hours and openings in the near future.


National food chains with Stateline locations and local eateries plan to open up on Christmas:

-Casey's Pub (6 p.m. to 2 p.m.) 7307 N. Alpine Rd
-Denny's (24 hours): 7376 East State Street
-Hooters (4 p.m. to midnight): 6904 Argus Drive
-IHOP (6 a.m. to 2 p.m.): 6960 Argus Drive
-Jax Pub (4 p.m. to 2 a.m.): 4160 N Perryville Rd,
-Oscar's Pub (11 a.m. to 2 a.m.) 5980 E State St.
-Rockton Inn (3 p.m. to 2 a.m.): 109 S Blackhawk Blvd,
-Starbucks (6 a.m. to 4 p.m.): 6239 East State Street
-Steak N' Shake (11 a.m. to midnight): 7561 East State Street
-Sunrise Family Restaurant (6 a.m. to 2 p.m.), 7019 N. Alpine Road
-TGI Fridays (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.): 2408 S. Perryville Road
-Windsor Pizza Parlor (4 p.m. to 11 p.m.): 1034 Windsor Road
-Whiskey's Roadhouse (3 p.m. to 2 a.m.): 3207 N. Main Street

Gas stations, pharmacy and convenient stores also plan to stay open:
-Circle K
-CVS (regular hours)
-Family Dollar (abbreviated schedules)
-Walgreens (regular hours)

AMC Showplace Rockford 16 on 8301 E. State Street will offer some movie selections as early as 9:40 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Several local bowling alleys, including Don Carter Lanes, plan to open on Christmas in the afternoon.

These popular restaurants and business will not be open on Christmas day:
-Burger King
-Taco Bell
