ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)-- Many cities across the Stateline are preparing for some serious snowfall over the weekend. A winter weather advisory has been issued, and these cities responded by declaring a snow emergency:
City of Rockford
Snow emergency begins at 8 p.m. Friday. The odd/even parking ordinance is in effect.
City of Beloit
Snow emergency is in effect on Friday. Vehicles that stand on city streets during a snow emergency will receive a ticket and/or be towed away.
City of South Beloit
Snow emergency started at 4 p.m. on Friday and lasts until Saturday at 3 p.m.. All snow ordinances within the city will be enforced.
City of Janesville
Snow emergency started at 11 p.m. on Friday. Cars parked in city streets and public parking lots must be moved.
Town of Beloit
Snow emergency begins at 6 p.m. on Friday and lasts until 6 p.m. on Saturday. Vehicles are prohibited from parking on city streets.
Village of Machesney Park
Snow emergency begins at 8 p.m. on Friday. Until roadways are cleared, cars should not be parked on them.
Village of Poplar Grove
Snow emergency begins at 8 p.m. on Friday. Cars need to be moved from roadside parking to help with snow removal.
Village of Cherry Valley
Snow emergency starting at 6 p.m. Friday. Cars are not allowed on village streets.
