Spectrum students give back to the community
The gift of giving, students of Spectrum school are getting into the holiday spirit as they donate Poinsettias to local nursing homes.
It's the first year Spectrum students participated in a project like this, it was led by the parent teacher organization. Over 100 Poinsettias were donated to 5 nursing homes throughout the Rockford area. On Thursday, students helped load the truck with poinsettias which were donated by parents. The PTO hopes they can make this a tradition.
"This is our first year doing it and the response has been awesome our families totally supported and our community totally supported so we're looking to grow and make it huge next year." PTO President, Jocelyn Shutkas said.
