Slow Progress on Costco Proposal for Loves Park

Rockford, Ill. (WIFR) - Some frustration coming out of the Winnebago County Economic Development Committee Wednesday night, as members decide to lay over a resolution allowing the city of Loves Park to use host fees for infrastucture surrounding the site of the future Costco.

The resolution would allow loves park to use $1.7 million in host fees for roads, demolition and relocating Cream City Scale; which surrounds the future Costco site.

Commitee Chairman Fred Wescott says committee members chose to lay the issue over in order to get more clarification on exactly where the money will be going. Wescott says it should be a no-brainer because the county will be making money off taxes.
