Shopko to close all remaining stores by mid-June

(WIFR) -- Shopko announced it will close more than 120 remaining department stores.

According to documents​ filed Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, all remaining stores will close by June 16.

The closures will affect stores in Beloit, Belvidere, Dixon and Freeport.

Shopko filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January. The company started closing hundreds of stores in December.

"This is not the outcome that we had hoped for when we started our restructuring efforts," said Russ Steinhorst, Chief Executive Officer of Shopko. "We want to thank all of our teammates for their hard work and dedication during their time at Shopko."
