ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Some big smiles on the faces of kids and police, forming special relationships in the aisles of Meijer.
On Saturday, kids from GiGi’s Playhouse, which serves people living with Down syndrome and their families, went shopping with Rockford Police Officers, crossing off items on their Christmas lists.
Each shopper had $100 donated by Meijer to spend on their loved ones. The goal is to form relationships and teach the kids about budgeting their money and buying for others.
