ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- Severson Dells Nature Center celebrates its 30th annual luminaria event this weekend. It includes walking through the candlelit trails, listening to live music, enjoying hot chocolate by a fire and riding on a horse drawn wagon ride through the prairie.
Organizers say it’s a great weekend to make lifelong memories. The event takes place again on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
“Because it's been going on for 30 years it's a family tradition for a lot of people. There's a lot of people that grew up coming out doing this as kids that are now bringing their kids and bringing their parents too. So you're getting multiple generations to enjoy the festivities and we're happy to be a part of people's family traditions,” said director of Severson Dells Nature Center Ann Wasser.
