Second afternoon fire breaks out in Rockford, crews save cat

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Fire crews are responding to a second afternoon house fire in Rockford.

The Rockford Fire Department and other responders are working to put out a fire in the 600 block of N. Second St.

Officials tell 23 News no one was home during the fire. Crews also rescued a cat and performed a procedure to save its life.

Another fire broke out Thursday afternoon at 7709 Owen Center Road in Rockford.
