ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- It's the busiest day of the year from Santa, but that didn't stop him from visiting the little ones in the SwedishAmerican Pediatric Unit.
Santa brought along gifts and holiday joy for the hospital's youngest patients.
Spending the holidays at the hospital isn't ideal, but SwedishAmerican officials say creating special moments like this help the patients and their families.
"We really try to help make the kids that are in the hospital still be able to celebrate and brighten their day," says child lide specialist Stacey Zell-Weavel. "We have kids here all year long that are maybe celebrating birthdays, missing special events, so having things to be able to fill the playroom and to be able to offer kids and help them get through a difficult time, the hospital has needs that all year long."
