ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- In an effort to fight hunger in the community the Rock River Pantry hosted its annual Round up for Hunger event to help raise money for those in need.

"There's a big need out there and a lot of times people don't understand how big the need is and events like this can help so many people in the area,” Reggie Tillmon, from the Rock River Valley Pantry said.

People who attended this event were treated to live music, specifically music from the 50's to the 80's, a themed dinner menu. There was also an option to participate in the costume and hula hooping contests

"Our goal would be 20,000, every dollar makes a difference every 94 cents of every dollar that is raised goes to program services,” Kim Adams-Bakke, from the Rock River Valley Pantry said.
