Roosevelt students paint military-inspired mural in Rockford
Roosevelt High School students take advantage of the warmer weather to make a difference for the community.
The students worked with Dean Impey, the owner of Tri-B Hardware & Supply in Rockford, to make a military-inspired mural on the side of his building. The mural is symbolic of the original owners who served time in the military.
The students are a part of a graphic design class. They took military concept to a mural they hope grabs the attention of those driving by the store.
"We weren't expecting to get it done in a day, but due to hard work we got it done pretty fast," said Axel Beca, Roosevelt High School student. "I think the military background really captures the idea of the hardware store. People drive down Charles Street and they see this. They're going to remember this store as the store owned by military people back in the day."
You can stop by the mural at 2811 Charles Street.
