Rockford's Italian market comes this summer

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- Pasqua Mercato opens for 11 weeks every Sunday beginning June 2nd.

The open air Italian market will feature vendors ranging from bread to gelato. The market will be open from 10 to 3 PM and open to the public.

The main goal is to not only bring more activities to the area but unite communities.

"The idea is to focus around family which is what the Italian culture is what our families is all about," says Charlie Schweinler from Lino's restaurant.

A lot of the vendors at the market will be local and the produce will come fresh from Kinnikinnick Farm in Caledonia.
