Rockford workplaces recognize different faiths around the holidays

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR)- - We spoke to Lamis Diab from the Muslim Association of Greater Rockford and Rabbi Binah Wing. They arent offended by the lights and decorations of the Christmas season.

Diab and Wing say christians don't need to walk on eggshells when celebrating holidays, but want to celebrate their holidays as freely. Both say the workplace should be respectful of all holidays and traditions and invite everyone to participate in all activities.

"Holidays are lovely so we just say lets try to focus on our holiday and make those special," said Rabbi Wing.

"I think it's important to hype the holidays we have in our Islamic traditions. And we do talk about diversity, and how not everybody beleives the same thing that doesn't make someone right or wrong it just means they have a different belief," said Diab.
