ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford woman was charged Thursday for setting a local strip mall on fire.

Rosie Bailey, 53, was charged with arson and criminal damage to property.

Police say Bailey was standing alone on the southeast corner of 917 School Street on March 20 when a fire began to rise moments later. Officers detained Bailey and arrested Bailey at the scene.

Bailey is being held in Winnebago County Jail. Her arraignment is set for April 25 at 9 a.m.

If convicted, Bailey faces up eight years in prison for both charges.
