ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford woman was charged for causing multiple skull fractures and a brain injury to a five-month-old baby.

Porshay A. Paden, 21, was indicted Wednesday on charges of aggravated battery to a child and aggravated domestic battery.

Authorities responded to a home on Aug. 20 in the 700 Block of Belmont Avenue. First responders say the baby initially was not breathing, but was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries.

If convicted, Paden faces up to 30 years in prison. She is due in court on Sept. 13 for an arraignment hearing.
