ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The city of Rockford will stick with Thursday's trick-or-treat hours as planned, according to a city spokesperson.
Rockford's trick-or-treating hours are set from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.
The announcement comes as some stateline communities have decided to postpone trick-or-treating hours to the weekend. For the full list of trick-or-treat times in the stateline, click here.
While the current forecast calls for cold temperatures and potential snowfall, it is expected to be dry during the evening hours.
Rockford offered a few safety tips ahead of Halloween:
-Use caution when walking on the streets and sidewalks. Any snow accumulation may leave the surfaces slippery.
-Make sure you are visible - carry glow sticks or flashlights and wear bright clothing, if possible.
-Dress in layers.
-Keep moving. Moving generates heat and will keep you warm.
-If you feel the conditions are unsafe, please use your own judgment and make the best decision for your family.
