Rockford police seek suspect from Family Dollar armed robbery

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford police ask for the public's help with finding a man accused of an armed robbery over the weekend at a Family Dollar store.

Police say the store, located at 501 N. Springfield Avenue, was robbed around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.

A man reportedly walked into the store, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money from the cash register.

No one was hurt, but the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect, who was captured on surveillance cameras, was described as a black man around 25 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe across the shoulders and black jeans.
