ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Local nurses are giving to an organization that serves the more than 2,700 homeless teens in our area.

SwedishAmerican nurses started collecting new and used clothes as well as hygiene products on November 27 and they just finished Wednesday. Now, Just Breathe 815 is picking up those donations to take and distribute to homeless youth through their drop-in center.

Nurses say they decided to give because of the great things Just Breathe 815 does for the community.

"I think nurses in general, we are caring and compassionate and this was a perfect organization to donate to. It just really struck my heart chords," says Swedes magnet program director Amy Dull.

Just Breathe 815's main focus right now is providing warm winter clothing for homeless teens as they get ready to start the spring semester.
