After almost six hours, Rockford Police say the man who barricaded himself in a home is now in custody.

Authorities say at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, they arrived at a home in the 2100 block of Andrews Street in Rockford after receiving a domestic violence call. Officers surrounded the home and the S.W.A.T. team was called after reports that the suspect was armed with another person in the home.

Eventually, the suspect did surrender himself to Rockford Police. 53-year-old Vincent Czajka faces charges of phone harassment. No one was injured in this incident. Lewis Lemon Elementary School, which is located less than half a mile away from the home was placed on lock-down as a precaution.
