ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man is sentenced for spraying paint all over the Winnebago County Republican Central Committee headquarters.

Timothy Damm, 43, received 180 days in jail, 30 months probation and 100 hours of public service work for the vandalism.

In late September 2018, Rockford police officers arrived at 515 N. Court Street to find the building defaced with the words "rape" and "shamed" spray painted on the front. Investigators believe Damm was reacting to confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Damm was found guilty last November.
