ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man plead guilty Monday to a hit-and-run crash that killed a disabled person in 2016.

Kellen Odems, 32, was behind the wheel on Sept. 9, 2016, when his car struck a man in a wheelchair in the 2100 block of Kishwaukee Street.

Police say they found the body of Richard Walker, a 67-year-old man who used a wheelchair, lying in the roadway upon arrival. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Odems left the scene after the rash. Odems was charged with aggravated leaving the scene and accident involving death.

Odems faces up to 15 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 23.
