BOONE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man has pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal sexual assault involving a minor.
Ricco Sloan, 39, is accused of multiple offenses involving a minor. Investigators say the alleged offenses happened between Aug.1, 2013 and Oct. 31, 2016.
In June 2017, the victim's mother found some text messages between Sloan and the victim. The victim allegedly told her mother that Sloan had sexually abused her since she was approximately seven years old.
The mother reported the alleged crimes to the Rockford Police Department. Investigators later determined some of the crimes had happened in Boone County.
Sloan faces up to 60 years in prison for the four counts of criminal sexual assault involving a minor. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 29.
Sloan will also be required to register as a sex offender for life upon release.
