ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man was indicted on charges for allegedly he beat up two children while a woman, his girlfriend at the time, went to work.
Trevor Hasselmann faces two counts of aggravated battery.
Rockford police were called to a hospital on April 26 following a battery complaint.
A woman told police she had left her two children with Hasselmann, her boyfriend at the time, while she went to work. When she returned home, she noticed visible injuries to both of her children, according to police.
The children were treated and released.
Hasselmann faces up to 20 years in prison, in addition to a year of mandatory supervised release. He is next scheduled for court on June 6.
Hasselmann is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
