ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man turned himself in on child pornography charges after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Phillip Levatino, 39, faces 14 counts of child pornography and grooming charges. He is being held in Winnebago County Jail.

Police say the arrest stemmed from a complaint that an underage juvenile had exchanged sexually suggestive messages and images through social media. These were reportedly shared with a friend of the victim's family.

Levatino was identified as a suspect. He turned himself in on Sunday, May 12. Levatino is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
