Rockford man charged for murder of 64-year-old man

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man was charged for the murder of a 64-year-old man in April.

Douglas Williams, 56, was charged with first-degree murder.

Police say the victim, Samuel Randolph, was killed​ in the 600 block of Alliance Ave.

Officers were called to the scene on April 8 around 4:30 a.m. When they arrived, Randolph was found dead inside of the home.

Randolph died from blunt force trauma, according to Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz.

Williams is being held in the Winnebago County Jail on a $2 million bond. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
