ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man was charged after he allegedly attempted to abduct four children at a park earlier this month.

Michael Stone, 55, was arrested on four counts of attempted aggravated kidnapping and child abduction.

Stone was reportedly at a park near a church in the 6300 block of Guilford Road on May 4. Police say he told several children to come home with them and attempted to lure them into his vehicle.

Stone's arraignment is scheduled for June 4. If convicted, he faces up to 72 years in prison.
