Rockford man arrested on warrants for domestic battery, failure to appear

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man wanted on warrants for domestic violence and failure to appear in court was arrested Wednesday.

James Sims, 25, was arrested Wednesday evening when officers conducted a warrant check in the 4200 block of Auburn Street.

Police found Sims in a bedroom closet and also recovered a handgun.

Sims was taken into custody without incident. In addition to the warrants, he faces charges of unlawful use of weapons by a felon and possession of a weapon by a gang member.

Sims is being held in Winnebago County Jail. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
