UPDATE: Rockford man sentenced in connection with drug charges

UPDATE: ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - A man arrested on several drug charges in December is sentenced.

Michael Phillips Jr. negotiated a plea deal for the charge of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 30 months probation.

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) A 31-year-old Rockford man is behind bars on drug charges.

Rockford police say 31-year-old Michael Phillips was arrested Wednesday, November 29. The arrest was made following several complaints of drug dealing in the 2200 hundred block of Pendleton Parkway.

Investigators say they were able to recover cocaine, cannabis and cash during the arrest.

Phillips is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church and possession with intent to deliver cannabis.

Phillips is considered innocent until proven guilty.
