Rockford man arrested after police seize stolen handgun, pills near party

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man was arrested after police allegedly recovered a stolen handgun and pills from a car near the scene of a party.

Quantrell Starks, 35, was charged after officers allegedly found him in possession of a loaded handgun, pills believed to be Ecstasy and a small amount of cannabis.

Police responded to the party Monday around 1 a.m. in the 900 block of School Street.

Starks faces charges of unlawful use of weapons by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

Starks is being held at Winnebago County Jail. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
