ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man was arrested for making a fake 911 call, according to police.

Kevon Dukes, 25, was taken into custody late Tuesday night after police determined he made a fake call about a stabbing around 11 p.m. Officers found Dukes in the 800 block of North Court Street after the call.

Police say Dukes damaged the interview room during the arrest process. He was charged with misuse of 911 and criminal damage to government property.

The Rockford Police Department says officers have received several fake 911 calls over the past few weeks. Police are still investigating to see if Dukes is behind more calls related to swatting.

Dukes was taken to Winnebago County Jail. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
