Rockford man charged for burglaries of seven businesses

A Rockford man arrested for breaking into Flamingo Slots in February faces an additional six counts of burglary.

Michael Fryer Jr., 36, was charged for additional burglaries at the following locations:

Miss Jill’s – 3951 W. Riverside Boulevard
Scanlan’s – 2921 City View Drive
Molly’s Deli – 3315 N. Main Street
Rockford Billiards Café – 1436 N. Main Street
BJ’s Place – 2842 11th Street
Mardi Gras Slots – 347 E. Riverside Boulevard, Loves Park, IL

Rockford and Loves Park police determined Fryer Jr. was the suspect in a series of burglaries after months of investigation.

Fryer Jr. is being held in Winnebago County Jail on seven counts of burglary. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.

A Rockford man was arrested after reportedly breaking in to Flamingo Slots and trying to take money from gambling machines.

Michael Fryer, Jr., 36, was arrested Monday on burglary charges.

Police arrived to the business at 7521 Walton Street around 4 a.m. on Monday. Officers found a suspect in the 3400 block of Latham Street.

Police say nothing was missing from Flamingo Slots and no money was stolen.

Fryer was taken to Winnebago County Jail. Detectives are investigating for a possible connection to other recent burglaries. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
