ROCKFORD, ll. (WIFR) -- A man and his 16-year-old son restrained a home invasion suspect until Rockford police officers arrived Tuesday night.

Julius Roundtree, 37, was arrested for invading a Rockford home in the 900 block of South Fifth Street shortly before midnight.

Police say Roundtree invaded the home, which was occupied by several family members at the home.

Police say a 42-year-old man was beaten and suffered minor injuries while trying to restrain Roundtree. He was eventually able to restrain Roundtree with help from his son.

Roundtree was charged with home invasion and battery. He is being held at the Winnebago County Jail and is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
