ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The city of Rockford has hired two consulting firms to help evaluate casino proposals.
Union Gaming Analytics and LLC and Taft Stetinius & Hollister LLP will help Rockford score, negotiate and approve casino proposals.
The two consulting firms were hired as Rockford faces a 120-day turnaround to seek and approve proposals. This comes after Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a gaming-expansion bill into law last month.
Rockford says the cost for the consultants will be covered by the $75,000 Request for Proposal. The City has also hired local attorney Bobbie Holzwarth to serve as the point person for the project and help coordinate the work of the consulting firms.
At least one proposal is already in the works, as Hard Rock International announced its casino push on Tuesday.
