Rockford felon arrested for selling firearm illegally

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A convicted felon from Rockford was arrested on weapons charges for allegedly selling a firearm illegally.

Michael Uecker, 37, was arrested on warrant Tuesday after a months-long investigation.

Uecker was arrested at his home in the 400 block of South Henrietta Avenue. Detectives recovered a handgun and several rounds of ammunition from the home.

Charges include unlawful use of weapons by a felon (possession of a firearm), two counts of unlawful use of weapons by a felon (possession of ammunition) and unlawful delivery of a firearm.

Uecker was taken to the Winnebago County Jail. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
